Tutorial requested by
smidgy06For the use of texture as background.
Photoshop CS // Non-translatable. Sorry.
Difficulty: Medium (?), Fair ammount of steps.
Go from:

>>
1.) Crop your base to 100x100 pixels.
Layer >> Duplicate Layer.
Set layer to screen.
2.) Layer >> New Adjustment Layer >> Selective Color
Reds
Cyan: -60
Yellow: -40
Neutrals
Cyan: +20
Yellow: -15
Yellows
Cyan: -65
Yellow: +15
3.) Layer >> Flatten Image
4.) File >> New >> 100x100 pixels.
5.) Layer >> New Layer
Paint Bucket Tool >> #376766
6.) Take
this texture, made by
gender Copy and Paste onto your new base.
Set to SCREEN.
7.) Now, go back to your Matt & Julie icon
Image >> Image Size >> 65x65 pixels.
Now, drag it over onto your textured background we just made in step 4-6. (BE SURE THE MATT & JULIE ICON IS FLATTENED)
8.) Now if you want..
Create a new layer, between the background layer and layer 1.
Use your Rectangular Marquee Tool
Hold down the shift key so that it stays in a square
And drag around Layer one (Be sure it is under layer one though)
Then Use your Paint Bucket Tool and fill the selected area with White, #FFFFFF
I am sure that probably got a bit confusing so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Hope it helps a bit.
