Well this is unexpected.
So we started watching the new King Kong, and I'm really surprised at how much I like it. I can't take Jack Black seriously, and I'm vaguely irritated at the excessive use of CGI, but this film is really quite beautiful. In true Peter Jackson style, of course.
Also, this version is actually terrifying in some spots. Like, the old school version is just kind of quaint. It's got that olden charm that removes any potential for fear. But these tribal people are horrifying. I would wet myself. They're scarier than the monkey. Well... but then again we all know he's really just a love-monkey, so I suppose the natives are scarier than the Tyrannosaurs. The Tyrannosaurs and the 8 ft. bugs.
Also, there's Adrien Brody. And, yum. Seriously. I would watch this movie again just for Adrien.
In honor of his glorious presence in this film, I figured I'd supply you with a picspam so we can all appreciate him.

ETA2: LAWLZ. Speaking of amusing, I'm a huge fan of the Tyrannosaurus death-swing escapade.
ETA3: Did Andy Serkis seriously get eaten by a slug? What? This Insect bit is just ridiculous. Just grab some Raid. Jeez.
ETA4: Demon bats? For realz?
ETA5: And like, whatever. The final line of that movie practically ruined the entire film.
