Me: Serial commas! Ugh!!!
Sandy: What?
Me: You know, serial commas? When you have a list of three or more items, the serial comma is the one before the "and." Some publications don't use it, but ours does.
Sandy: Thank God! I hate it when people don't do that! It's so confusing, 'cause what if you have an item in the list that has an "and" in the middle of it? Come on! It's not like we have to save up commas for the war!
Oh, lulz. It's even funnier because she was miming picking commas and putting them into a little bag for safe-keeping. I didn't even know Sandy had a victory garden, let alone a victory garden of punctuation marks.
