I defy you, Monday.

For me, it's still Sunday because I - ladies and gentlemen - have not slept yet, and we all know that new days are really just the periods in between sleep.

Considering it's still Sunday for me, I retract my previous statement about there being no post! I got both my book and my CD today! I got out of the shower, wandered into the kitchen, looked on the counter and voila! It was like Christmas! The Christmas I never had... *snuggles her things.* Nothing like a bit of consumerism, eh?

What are you guys up to today?

I'm still watching movies. New movies/movies I haven't seen before. I saw Mirrormask for the first time last night, even though I've owned it for months. It was gorgeous, and completely not what I was expecting. A visual feast. It's definitely a film for the artist. Cal, I recommend it to you specifically.

We also went to the Lagoon and saw Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, and wow. Wow. I loved it. It was so beautiful and disturbing, and a very sensual film. It made me breathe differently for a moment, clearer, and stronger, and with an actual purpose and desire to really understand smell. I think it's probably my most under-appreciated sense.

I'm adding the novel by Patrick Süskind to my reading list, which along with Darkly Dreaming Dexter has become pretty dark as of late. Evidently, the song "Scentless Apprentice" by Nirvana was based on story... so I should listen to it while reading. Kidding. I'm not that much of a dork.

Anyway, it was beautiful. Tom Tykwer - the same guy that brought you Run Lola Run and Paris j'taime - directed it and my, it was flawless. Alan Rickman and Dustin Hoffman were in it! What's not to love? Also, I need to get me some pictures of Ben Whishaw, because he is gorgeous, even if he does weigh less than Kiera Knightly.

books, movies, sometimes i like to buy things, huzzah!, ftw!
