The show is over.
Now ... to homework! HUZ... wait. No. Shit.
Anyway, the show was a delightful experience. I don't think I ever want to operate a sound board again, but it reminded me how much I really miss being directly involved with theater. This was a fantastic show to work with too, just because it's such a deviation from the norm. The show, if you ever get a chance to see it... is like a horror movie on the stage. In the opening scene there are two murders, and the lead character shoots up herione, literally everyone dies, there's lots of blood, flaying, zombies, talk of necrophelia, homosexuals, anti-semetism, skin being sown on onstage, sex on stage... it's golden. We sold out every day. I had a great time, and I really enjoyed working with a majority of the people. I hope to stay in contact with them.
Now, back to life! Midterms next week... I'm hoping to study with Colin, Noah, and Nic. We'll see if that actually happens. Also, lots of homework coming due. We'll have to wait and see if that actually happens as well, I'm afraid. I'm planning on writing a service piece tomorrow for Mag Writ on how to properly use a semicolon. I think it will be marvelous, and it will definitely solidify my reputation as an extreme nerd, as well as a total grammar nazi. Ah, geekdom. Delicious.
In other - and completely unrelated - news, amaretto is delicious and I think I'm going to drink a glass on the rocks every day for the rest of my life. Just so you know.
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. I woke up today feeling uncharacteristically optimistic. Life is beautiful. Even though it's going to be Monday, I'm happy. Design and tech lecture, costume lab included... I'm actually excited to go to school. Clearly, someone must have given me a partial lobotomy. Either that, or I have been abducted by aliens because this is not normal Shelby behavior and/or perspectives. I'll let it roll though if it'll let me be productive for a change. Lord knows I have lagged recently.
I dont intend on stopping the lag tonight, however. I intend to employ a gradual transition. Gonna watch me some O Brother, Where Art Thou? and retire, methinks. Still, tomorrow better batten down it's hatches because the Homework Pirate is comin' in to port. Arrrrrrrrr.
