Appearance: Resembling Anzu as she is during most of the series, her current fashion can't really be seen since she was snatched up in what she'd actually recently been using as her pajamas.
Damn Malik and his refusal to use something other than shorts when it's time to sleep...
Basically, she's wearing a white tank top with pale blue shorts... Her flipflops fell of when she was kidnapped, though she seems to have forgotten actually being kidnapped to begin with, and assumes what is actually close the the truth- she fell asleep.
She just doesn't recall the fact that she didn't intend to at the time.
On a more technical note, Anzu's 5'4'', and she won't get any taller than that.
Personality: An interesting thing Anzu... For the most part, she's as canon- the girl in the group, but not among girls. The one who dreams of dancing, but isn't afraid to speak her mind, regardless of the audience. After the 'merge' with Malik however, she's been adopting a few traits of his, something he himself is doing as well. Typically it's just small things, though she wonders...
Anzu is a determined sort of girl- if she needs to get something done, then she'll do it as best she can- and she'll make certain that 'best' is 'beyond required'. She cares for her friends because they are, outside her formerly small family, all she has, and because she considers them as such.
As 'tom-boy-ish' as she once was, she seems to be reverting to that state... Blame Malik, though he'll insist otherwise. (The most 'Malik-like' she'll tend to get however is apparent around Yami Yugi/Atem; she suddenly gets verrrrrrry stiff and formal around him now, as her brain instantly tells her she's speaking to a Pharaoh.)
History: (For those who aren't reading the fanfic.) In this Anzu's realm, everything seemed to be going as canon. Sure, Jonouchi was spacing out a lot more than usual... Not to mention finishing everyone's sentences before doing what he could to make sure no one noticed that... Oh, and staring at places on the duel field that were empty. And not looking at his hand of cards. And not actually touching the buttons while he dueled- how was he DOING that!?
In Anzu's realm, Jonouchi has a previous incarnation, similar to a few others. His, however, was of humbler background, and never even lived long enough for the events of Atem's time. He had power though- and that power, which was on par with that of a prophet's, was a power that attracted Malik Ishtar's attention during investigation before the events of Battle City.
It's this power that, in addition, made him such an interesting case of control... For while all he took hold of would forget, Jonouchi did not, and in fact seemed to simply 'snap' the controls. His possession was strange- and his immediate suspicion of 'Namu' even stranger.
For that reason, Anzu doesn't remember anything after she and Jonouchi followed Namu down the street- Malik used a majority of the Rod's power to almost go so far as to possess her body in attempt to spy on Jonouchi- yet it seemed the blond was suspicious even of that.
Regardless of being found out however, the near possession became complete possession when his second personality took the head- the force, combined with the Millennium Rod's power, effectively split the soul in two- the emotions of 'Yami Malik' remained in the body, and the remainin portions of Malik were locked back within Anzu's form.
So of course, he refused to let Anzu remember THAT! He took the helm in the body for as long as he could- even when 'Noa' began driving their airship into the 'seas'. Even when their bodies were knocked out and slipped into VR pods. Even when-
Oh sorry, that's where he lost control. With both minds trapped in the realm but tied to the same body, what affected one or the other affected them both. Taking the form of a small serpent to hide his identity in the Virtual World, Malik remained as close to Anzu as possible...
And over time, came to find himself grudgingly growing attached to the band of friends. It went so far enough that Yugi would indeed realize who it was... But then again, Malik didn't have any hate or anger on hand at the time.
Regardless, the final obstacle Noa would place in their way would become the worst- a prison of memory, intended to take what lay in the mind and lock them within it. With Anzu only, it would have been fine.
But Anzu's body was shared by Malik- what he saw, she saw, what he felt, she felt, and when his memories began to invade the program she underwent the very same horrific experience that Malik had... And their memories doubled.
Anzu would get all of Malik's memories. Malik would get all of Anzu's. The emotions they felt for the friends of that person would transfer, and by the end of it both were holding their heads in horror and confusion, and looking at the other with mixed emotions. To Anzu, it was the one who had tried to kill her, kill her friends, tried to ruin everything..! But she knew why, and she now didn't know who it was she was meant to hate.
Malik however, had the memories of who the spirit he hunted was, what kind of person that spirit was becoming, the times 'they' had together... But these weren't his experiences.
By the time they got out, they had 'worked things out', somewhat. Malik and Anzu were switching control of the body so smoothly it as frightening, but nonetheless a relief...
But the 'scars' still remained. Because of the trauma the brain thought her body underwent, scar tissue was produced to 'heal' what had never been cut. A raised scar identical to Malik's own now sits upon her back, a fact that both would raise with Ishizu a little later on in the tournament. Memories that were completely foreign would now affect their judgement... Now Malik had memories of a mother. Anzu had memories of siblings, and of true pain...
In the end, the relationship between this Anzu and 'that Malik' is 'twin-like'. They know each other as much as they can know themselves. When one says something, it's more than likely the other will know what comes next- it's strange...
But that's 'Skin' Anzu, and it certainly explains her complete and utter calm in the face of whatever most would flinch at concerning Malik's past.
