It's only just apparent the boy's somewhere outside, judging by the cloudy blue sky and the reaction-worthy cold. The communicator is thrown to the ground, landing face-down and obscuring vision of all else, before followed by a crunch. Yeah, he just stomped on the communicator.
There's not much more to that, though. Perhaps the distant noise of footsteps in snow as he walks away.]
