The brightness here is enough to blind me, but I rather here than Japan right now.
Looking for a place to stay in? That seems to be my problem now. My friend and I are hunting for a good cheap place to stay in, more or less a permanent apartment.
I wonder how everyone gets so established here... Some claim to have only been in Lumiere for a month or so, tops!
Nice to meet you, Julia. Running the away is the last step before death...
I found myself in a similar situation a few days back since I just got it myself. There are these apartments down on Roseline Street, not to shabby of a place and the price isn’t that bad either. Though, I really should start job hunting soon.
A month? I’ve heard some claiming a year or more.
I’d much rather try and outrun death for as long as possible. It's like a challenge though in the end it'll always win but it's good to try.
I would hope I am a Earth gal! In my world, its the only world I know that exists...
You are from another time, right? Yeah. I heard rumors about people coming from alternate realities, you are the second person I met so far like that.
Roseline Street? Thanks for the info, going to check around there soon. Don't be surprised to see me as a neighbor!
You know... If you have any background in teaching, you should apply to be enrolled as a teacher. They need more teachers around here, it seems since a lot of new students just enrolled in.
Might pay nicely too, at least for now.
I used to be...well, a cop in my old life. Similar to a cop, not exactly but...easiest way to explain it.
You got it. Though I'm probably ahead of you by a century or two I'd wager. And on a much different planet. Alternate reality you say? Now that's something...
Don't mention it, it's nothing really. I look forward to it.
Me a teacher, hmm...well it's a bit of a stretch from my previous profession. But it's a thought. I'll have to check that out. Thanks.
A cop, you don't say. Must've been an interesting profession. I've seen some cops around military types, don't know if they're hiring but hey like you said it never hurts.
Probably the same dimension but a few years ahead of my own reality... And here I thought I was living in the future.
So many different people here, so many from different worlds, I can't help but feel like I'm lost in a maze here...
I've been a cop all my life, even beforehand served some time in the military. It's been a fun career and all, but I think change is in order for me. Though, I wonder what was your last job...
I don't normally meet alot of femme fatals in my old line of work. I hope you find a gig that you'll love to do. Hell, even bounty hunting was a pretty fun sport for Batou and the rest of guys back at Section 9.

After seeing so much of the bad and ugly, sometimes a good ending is just needed.
I think this why alot of us ended up here in this city.
Just to escape all that ugly...
I'm Motoko, and you are?

Maybe.
Julia. Nice to meet the acquaintance of a fellow runaway, Motoko.

A new beginning for us all.

I can relate all too well.
All your life? That’s pretty interesting. My previous job was fast paced at times, though I can’t say that I miss it. It had its days.
Thanks, I'm sure something will fall into place. Hope you find something that you like.
Bounty hunting’s all the rage back in my world. Section 9? Sounds almost like something from the ISSP. You’d probably fit right in with those guys.
