dyas -- probably one of the few people to say "oh COOOOOOL" when i say "i'm taking fourier/complex analysis next semester."
walstein -- prodigious amounts of teasing, made me expound on my vast knowledge of colleges (NOT) while delivering the usual raves on life lessons (don't get pregnant, mit boys are horny, hell boys are plain horny, blahblah)
donaldson -- talked to me about academia, about professor edward wilson in the sociobio dept as well as some other professors i don't know about.
dr t -- upon seeing me, gave the most wonderfully distraught "OH NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE" facial expression. also she has a cute as whoa granddaughter.
mme loomis -- who was talking to one of the magnet alumni who'd brought her husband and baby along (class of '93, likely loaded as they own a resort in JAMAICA). fortunately mme talked to me in english, and we talked about all sorts of things like good books (she didn't like life of pi much either). she reco'd me a few (stuff by milan kundera?) which i will somehow find the time to read.
.
that should've been longer but i'm dealing with larger problems, such as my lovely thinkpad (nicknamed rambo) decided to die on me, at least, tottering on its last legs. definitely a hardware problem, the screen will scramble and eventually the system will lock up in the middle of use, esp with increased contact (typing, adjusting the screen, etc). SIGH IBM YOU HAVE FAILED ME. so yes. shipping it to ibm on monday and hopefully they can recreate the problem and service it.
