why do people insist on not listening to a child's mother? i know that i'm new to the whole parenting thing, but i do have four plus weeks of experience with my own child, which is thirty days more than you. so don't you think that it would behoove you to perhaps ask my opinion on whether or not he needs to be "put to bed" before you do it and wake him up? if you're going to volunteer to care for him, you don't get to do things your way exclusively, it's a give and take type thing. except when it comes to sleeping. then it's whatever my baby wants to make him comfortable. if he's happy sleeping on your chest for two hours, make the sacrifice.
this wouldn't have irritated me so much except it's been happening all day. i offer lucas to be held, he's held for about fifteen minutes and then attempted to be placed somewhere -- swing, bassinet, crib, etc. very odd. but then comments are made to me, brent or others on the phone that he eats all of the time and that there hasn't been too many opportunities for holding. *sigh* brent is insisting that i go to bed, but i don't want to leave lucas and yet i know that if i don't get sleep at worst my depression can come back full force or at best i'll be even more irritable tomorrow. to paraphrase a friend, she did raise two kids -- one of which so well i married him. looking on the bright side might help with mama paranoia.
