banner anniversary day
lovely lovely day.
started at 6:45 in the morning with usual bathroom trip. i was tired enough to go back to sleep at first, but then i remembered that it was our anniversary and got too excited. laid in bed for a while and listened to the bear breathe and thought about the years that have passed. felt all peaceful and lovey and got a bit teary. then promptly got up in a quiet rush to wrap his present.
woke him up with a kiss and his present. he absolutely loved his watch and was rather pleased that it was kinetic. i was lucky enough to receive an antique japanese jewelry chest (he followed the tradition of gifting wood for five years). we cuddled for a bit and then hopped in shower.
we were lucky enough to spend our saturday in a childbirth prep class from 9-5. the first part was boring for me, but the bear seemed to get a lot out of the whole class. he was surprisingly attentive and asked quite a few questions. i enjoyed the class -- the instructor did a really nice job outlining the process of birth in a non-judgemental way. there was a nice mix of people there as well (except for this rather annoying british guy that thought he was entirely too cool for school and kept making under his breath snarky comments. at one point, his wife told him that it wasn't about him and he sulked. i smiled.) we had lunch at pasta pom's and got mini-cupcakes for everyone at cal-mart.
originally we were going to get dinner delivered from waiters on wheels, but brent decided to grill steaks instead. he made us the most delicious dinner: rib eyes, grilled corn on the cob, garlic bread, sauteed mushrooms and onions, and mashed potatoes and gravy. i'm so full right now i can barely sit up straight. my wonderful husband is in the kitchen cleaning the dishes as i type. the rest of our evening is going to be spent watching raiders of the lost ark and perhaps the temple of doom if i can keep my eyes open. like i said, lovely lovely day.
