today marks my thirtieth week of gestation -- three more to go until super scary time is over, six more until bedrest can be lifted no matter what, and ten more until turtle's due date.  tomorrow marks my third week anniversary of bedrest and is also our third cervical ultrasound appointment.  i found myself smiling foolishly in the bathroom because i get to go outside tomorrow and then shuddered in fear that something might be wrong.  i can always handle potential bad unknown things until the night before.  then i freak.  i hope hope hope everything is ok.  i don't want another bad news day.

on a lighter note, we've now moved bedrooms thanks to the hard work of my dad and bear.  i didn't think that they would be able to accomplish so much in one short day, but my mom and dad showed up around eleven-thirty and got right to work.  it was a little tricky trying to fit everything in some sort of workable order, but we managed nicely.  because the backroom has this retarded curve along one wall, nothing lies flat enough to utilize the corner efficiently.  right before lunch, the guys were getting discouraged on how to fit the crib, dresser/changing table, white tower, red couch, tv, and bassinet along the wall.  brent actually flip-flopped and announced "we're getting an air bed, and guests can sleep on that."  "where?", i ask.  "living room."  ummm . . .no.  his parents are not kipping on my freaking floor.   he and my dad were just sitting in chairs, obviously having low blood sugar issues.  i sit down, and stare at the puzzle pieces for a minute.  i make a few suggestions -- the first was shot down, but i persevered and ultimately won the day and solved the problem.  i look forward to friends coming over and seeing their reactions.  i'm loving our new bedroom.  as bear put it: "life feels a lot less cramped."  i'm also starting to feel more prepared for turtle's arrival, especially since bear ran down to san bruno and picked up our infant car seat on sunday.

i finished my babylegs today and i think they turned out pretty cool.

here's it is, unsewn:

it's hard to tell in that last picture, but the legging is folded almost in half to fit frog, and will probably have to do the same for new turtle.  they fit on my forearm well, so unless our child has michelin man legs, they'll fit on toddler turtle too.  i used this really cool washable sock yarn that i found at imaginknit.  it's made out of bamboo and wool and knits up well.  i happen to have an extra ball for kat.  cause she'll like it too.
