About 5o hours. I didn't finish the optional stuff however, such as the missions (which are basically FFXII's hunts), upgrading weapons, fully completing the "sphere grids", etc. Luckily, you can save after you beat the game and you can play from the point before the final boss. I don't think I would be thrilled of having to replay the entire thing from the beginning so soon...
I was mildly surprised too. There's no actual romantic interaction in the game between the pairing... but it's hard to argue against it, if only because their feelings are so blatantly obvious, which is the reason why I went as far as to call it "canon". Oh, and one of them saying "The only thing I want to protect is... !!" helps too. They didn't finish the sentence, but again, it's freaking obvious. xD
Snow is only annoying because his every line in the first few hours of the game consists of "Because Serah said so!/told me this!/etc." He's not unbearably annoying, but I thought he was one of the weaker characters of the cast in terms of back story and development. Contrast him with Sazh, who I liked all the way through, and Hope, who started off as a whiner and ended up being the one who said the most 'main protagonist'-like pieces of dialogue in the entire game. xD
Well, FFXIV is being made by the FFXI team, so it wasn't that surprising to me. Those guys have always been in a group of their own, lol. I am looking forward to the game and signed up for closed beta a few weeks ago.
