I've posted my Christmas/holiday windows photo haul for Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdale's from Sunday night! You can tell which of the two I preferred by the volume of photos involved. ::cough:: You can see them at
my Flickr. Plus, take a look at Louis Vuitton's building, which they've disguised as a giant pile of their luggage trunks during its renovation.
I encourage folks to embiggen the Bergdorf Goodman window display photos to look for the bejeweled, sequined, beaded, etc. pigeons in every main display. (The window series theme is Fifth Avenue NYC, and what animal is more NYC than pigeons. Rats.)
I'm still waiting to see what Kleinfeld Bridal does, and I haven't processed my Ralph Lauren shots yet. One Ralph Lauren window has an animated teddy bear in a tux with motion sensors so its eyes and head move to follow onlookers. Some kids near me loved it, but I found it unnerving. I didn't do a video or photo of it. Too disturbed.
Saks has unveiled their windows since my visit Sunday, and from what I see in
this article, they're bullshit in comparison to
the past. These are their 100th anniversary offerings? I'll have to go to be disappointed and offended in person sometime soon. NYC Saks has also gotten rid of its holiday light show for the first time in like 16 years. It's a very dour, sad 100th anniversary it seems.
