I went to my local precinct tonight, where I was told they will not make a police report or any kind of report or notes since my not having video evidence of the thief means the property is officially lost or missing, not stolen, and that's not a crime. The urge to say, "Detective Wright, you should try to fucking detect," was strong but I didn't do it. He agreed to give us a card with his name and information after he saw me typing his name and badge number into my phone, something he might not have done otherwise since the two cops who spoke to J on October 23rd certainly didn't.
He says our only option to catch the bitch is to... let her into our room while we have a video camera recording in it sending the feed to our phones? So, now that I have a latch and padlock on my bedroom door and it's harder for her to break in and she's less likely to do it, do I leave the door unpadlocked and unlocked after I buy and install a camera and hope she takes the bait? Is that entrapment?
Also, J told me one problem with getting the bitch evicted is that the law is all "awwwww, she's old and disabled!" The fact that J and I are in our 60s and 50s and also disabled means nothing. Also, the law feels it's fine that she take and destroy anything out in the common areas, because that's considered sharing. It's public property! Your food and everything else are communal!
Bitch knows it's not her stuff but is also quite aware there are zero consequences to her.
Sometimes it's hard to know whether she's in the apartment or not. Since she sometimes sits in the dark in her room for days, as is truly psychologically healthy.
I have murder fantasies about this woman, since it seems like I won't be safe from her predations unless she dies, and it takes a lot to get me there. My family has murder fantasies about her.
J was talking to the detective about breaking into bitch's room. I sat there, after hearing several reprises of his bullshit and that he won't be any use, wanting to be anywhere else.
But when I go to HRA next week I can tell them I tried to create a police report but the police wouldn't let me and I spoke to Detective Wright at the [local] precinct about it.
