Rollin' me down the highway

I saw Deadpool & Wolverine Saturday and mostly enjoyed it, though I thought it was too long in places and the pacing was sometimes a bit off. It's unfortunate that I'd inadvertently gotten spoiled on one thing--Chris Evans showing up, and what role he was playing--because it would've been a fun surprise. While Gambit was somewhat fun how they'd played him here and Channing Tatum could work for this version, I don't think this Gambit was good for a whole movie, so I'm thankful we didn't get the Channing Tatum Gambit movie. Gambit's powers looked good, though. I liked Taylor Kitsch as Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and that's one of the few things I enjoyed in that movie, but he's a cameo we don't get in Deadpool & Wolverine. I was so happy to see a live-action Wolverine in uniform at last--it only took nearly 30 years--and they even put the canonical cowl on him by the end.

I visited my due South friend of nearly 25 years to see it, and my Elantra did the 100+-mile round trip, something I was a bit nervous about. With the too many places in NYC that have a 25-mph speed limit these days, it was healing for me to fly down two highways at 65-75 mph in New Jersey.

After seeing the movie, Kasha and I figured that AO3 would soon have slash fics set in the Honda Odyssey, and sure enough, they immediately started showing up.

By the way, the episode of Hot Ones that has Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds was fun.
