I live in Queens, NYC, and Friday my area had the shakes enough to knock a book off one of my shelves. I'm on the third floor, and everything was rattling for longer than I expected. Hilariously, I, and many other people I know, didn't get a cell phone alert about the earthquake until over 40 minutes after it happened. Local news says we haven't gotten tremors this bad in over 100 years. Last one was 1884.
It turns out that some people in my area felt an aftershock Friday at 6 p.m., but I was out driving somewhere at the time and didn't notice.
For the lesser tremors in 2011 I was unfortunate enough to have needles in my arms for a nerve test at my neurologist office when it occurred.

My local oldies radio station has been playing things from the early '90s for a while, which has made me feel a certain kind of way. I am kind of looking forward to them playing more alternative soon, since that was a big Top 40 thing in much of the '90s. But for some reason my brain totally noped out when it played Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy." I didn't expect that to be a breaking point for me.
