I've started posting NYC department store holiday stuff and windows, up at
my Flickr. I still have Saks to do, but Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf Goodman, and Kleinfeld are up.
Saks didn't please me much, since I want Rootstein mannequins, fashion, and drama but Saks was giving cute miniatures.
The huge clock-like zodiac piece on its building is cool, though I wasn't there for
the light show with it. Bloomingdale's window series had a Wonka theme. Bergdorf's was nice, while Kleinfeld Bridal's was fairly simple. Nothing that really super impressed me though, at least not when I've been following these stores' holiday windows for so many years.
I was out shooting after midnight and there were a lot of people out there with me, especially at Saks, which means I couldn't often achieve that state of quiet zen I prefer for taking photos.
NYC also delighted in closing off car lanes for whatever reason, making traffic worse. I shouldn't be driving at 3 miles an hour on the Williamsburg Bridge at 1:45 a.m., even for a Friday night/Saturday morning.
