Forever Disappointed
A nearby jewelry store is offering "permanent jewelry," and I'm rather horrified by the concept. Touted as a sign of your "forever love" and "forever bond," a bracelet, necklace, anklet, or ring is sized specifically to you and welded shut on your body. The ring idea seems especially dumb since fingers could swell for various reasons.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for Taco Bell. A new one opened up less than two miles from my home, so I checked it out at about 9:45 pm. It's one of the ones where there are order tablets up front but I wanted to pay in cash so I was glad to see there was a counter with a register as another ordering option, not every fast food place with the order tablets offer that. I gave the cashier $10.40 to pay for a $7.37 bill... and he gave me 40 cents back. I told him I gave him a ten-dollar bill so there better be more change than that. Once I talked to him more and he saw that even the receipt mentioned the $10, he gave me $3. I decided to let the missing 3 cents slide. This location is open until 1 am, so it's not like it's end of shift absentmindedness; this guy simply fails at being a cashier!
The hard-shell taco and taco supreme were okay but the cinnamon twists were hard in places--they should be light and crispy--and barely tasted like cinnamon. Actually, they tasted a bit like Captain Crunch berries, and there were a few pink dots on them so maybe that's what they inexplicably did.
I'm not going back to this place.

A local radio station had a dance remix of "Fast Car" as part of their Friday after 5 pm dance party play. Wtf....
