Burning Yearning
It was so hot here today--94 F/34.44 C--that I can't even breathe unless I'm in air conditioning. It's currently 82 F/27.78 C at 10:30 pm. Last week we had a few days of cool, crisp breeze, nice sun, coming-into-Autumn temperatures that made me so happy, only to get dropkicked into Hell in September.

End of an era: I just canceled my landline service yesterday. I wasn't using it for much, since I do almost everything on my cell phone, and Verizon increased the monthly rate for it to $84. I was surprised by the emotional wallop of sadness and regret I felt afterward, but I really can't justify that monthly $84.
