Wednesday, I had a dermatologist appointment in Manhattan, so I was wandering the city in intense sunlight and high temperatures, going to shady sides of the streets whenever possible. My body was not made for these kinds of conditions.
I put daylight shots of Bloomingdale's Barbie window displays up at
my Flickr. They have unavoidable window reflections since it was so sunny. It's always interesting to me how the color of displays can seem so different in day vs night shots. The day shots were all me popping off very quickly because people kept walking in front of me, unlike when I'm shooting at 3 a.m. They're sharp though, amazing given the conditions I took them under.
This sign for
Matto caught my eye because I didn't know why a coffee shop would use an image of
The Fool for it. It turns out that The Fool is "Il Matto" in most Italian language tarot decks.
Since I was in the city walking anyway, I decided to do some Pokémon Go, especially since the newest challenge involves Routes, which are created by players but have to be approved by Niantic to count. Niantic is taking very, very long to approve the one I made and there are no Routes up from other players in my area of Queens. I found some in Manhattan. My first Route there didn't give me credit for finishing it when I reached the end point. My second one did, but I didn't get a Zygarde cell, which is a goal they gave me to fill.
None of the previews for any of the Manhattan Routes worked so it was like "Here's a Route name, here's where the starting point is, figure it out." Without a preview, I found the start point and then walked in the wrong direction for several blocks. From 59th Street to 75th Street. I'm still annoyed, but walking is supposed to be good for you so.... I mean, it's not like there's anything I can do about it.
