Your faith for bricks and dreams for mortar

I am so far behind on everything: sending out Christmas/New Year's cards, writing fic, doing the December Posting Meme (the remaining questions are tough!), reading my DW Circle. (I'm so sorry, dine! You mailed me two things in the time it took me to not mail you anything!) I've been dealing with a lot of head pain and fatigue forcing me to bed early and wrecking my concentration. I don't know if some of the fatigue might be lingering COVID, but it's frustrating, whatever it is. I'll get to everything in time, I swear. (I hope.)

I did post a large number of holiday window display photos though! (Even if this still isn't everything I shot that I want to post.) You can see more of them at my Flickr.

I manage to fully redecorate my Christmas tree in about a day and managed to repair a porcelain teacup and saucer ornament with nail glue, as in the kind you use to repair fingernails. The stuff bonds quickly and holds.

I only finished two fics in 2022--"The Outside" (Weiß Kreuz) and "You Can Bend, or You Can Break" (Saiyuki)--though I do have a ton of WIPs that were too long and complex to finish. Give me something short and sweet, plotkittens, please! My lessened attention span for books that hit since the pandemic started continues, with me completing only 33 in 2022 and some of those are graphic novels and manga. But I'm still reading fic!

I had a sizable lump removed from my scalp two days before Christmas. Biopsy proved it not to be cancerous, but this cyst had been hurting me so it needed to go anyway. The dermatologist had to shave a bit of hair off to make the incision and then unavoidably cut a little more of my hair when removing the stitches a week later. She tells me that baby hairs were already growing back in but this still sucks. I'm arranging the hair on the top of my head to disguise it.

Miss Ukraine came to slay. Her ensemble for the Miss Universe pageant’s national costume competition was a “Warrior of Light,” inspired by Michael the Archangel and using elements of some traditional Ukrainian clothing as well as wings, battle armor, and a sword. The costume was created in Ukraine in four months in extreme conditions, to the sound of sirens, without electricity, and by candlelight.
