Bergdorf Goodman Windows NYC
Originally uploaded by wataandwineThis photo of one of Bergdorf Goodman's 2008 Christmas windows, "The Seasons: Spring," shot by someone else encapsulates so much of the appeal of great window displays for me: It's like an interface between reality and fantasy.

In this one, it almost looks like the passerby could step up and climb into the window world, or the Spring woman could step out and down into ours.

(My photos of "The Seasons" window series are here, if you're interested.)

Post-Christmas letdown was real. It didn't help that we've barely seen any sun in the last two weeks or that it's been so damp here, so it's pain, depression, and not wanting to wake up all the way around.

I kind of want to write but my head is just buzzing when I try to think of anything.
