Although the NYC curfew starts at 8 p.m., cops were refusing to allow any new customers into Queens Place when I arrived there at 4:30 p.m. Several windows were boarded up, but I didn't know whether they were done to protect windows or because windows had been broken. This is at Elmhurst, Queens.
I'm side-eyeing the cops out there that close to the public without masks.
I heard there was a plot to loot Queens Mall started online but it was foiled.
I'd thought that surely nothing would be going on after dark in my sleepy suburban part of Queens but forgot that Queens Boulevard is a little over a mile away.
The curfew is making me really want to go out at night.
I hope something positive comes out of all this. I shudder to think of what else 2020 might have in store for us.
