"City vows to fix bike lanes around the new span of the Kosciuszko Bridge"

Sometimes I think NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer is one of the few people in office in NYC who has even a lick of common sense. Everything he has to say here is completely right and should've been done before the opening.

A spokesperson said they intend to start putting signage and markings up next week, so this was intentional. Wtf? They didn't even have to open that new span yet, since it's way ahead of schedule. Usually I grimace at the the demands for "protected" bike lanes all over the place, but this is an area with massive truck traffic so if you're putting a bike lane there it needs barriers, and not only did you not do that but you also didn't bother to mark or label things.

By coincidence, I actually traveled over the bridge on the new span's opening Thursday morning, though I didn't drive over the new span itself because I was returning to Queens instead of going to Brooklyn, and it was chaotic. Sudden new traffic patterns and so many vehicles! It didn't help that it was 5:40 am and the lighting was morning twilight with some hints of sunrise in the distance, but still.

I thought this version of the Harry Potter sorting hat personality quiz is really interesting because it lets you interact with and interrogate the answers it gives you.

I came out a Hufflepuff Primary/Hufflepuff Secondary modeling Ravenclaw. (I didn't totally understand the Burned thing, so that may be something involved that I didn't really grok.) Pottermore just sorted me as Hufflepuff, which was always a "well, yeah, but..." thing for me.
