How Do I Hate Apple and Firefox? Let Me Count the Ways.

When I tried to factory reset my iPhone through iTunes today, the way I did last year, I got this message box: "Software for this iPhone (5S) is not currently available. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and try again." So I checked, and I do have the latest version of iTunes. Tried again. Same message box pops up! What do I do now? When I Googled for "restore to factory settings iphone 5 problems", I didn't get anything more recent than 2016 and nothing directly related, so it's either not out there or I haven't lucked into the phrase I need to get results. This page says I could reset using options inside my iPhone in "General," but I'm scared to try it, especially given I got a mysterious message box when trying to do it the way that worked in the past. Does anybody have any experience with this?

While tooling around trying to fix my Firefox so it won't crash my computer anymore, I saw an option in the program's "Troubleshooting" section to "refresh" Firefox, though it would wipe out some of my personalized additions. I decided to give it a try since looking for an older version of Firefox and doing an uninstall and then reinstall sounded complicated, especially considering the crap also going on with my iPhone. It wasn't kidding about how the refresh would make me lose things. Oy. Where do I have to go now to make Firefox keep my tabs from my last session? I can't figure out how to get my Firefox classic look back either. At least it hasn't crashed since the refresh?

And thus I fail.

eta: Aaaaaand the refreshed Firefox just turned off my computer, though it waited until I opened Dreamwidth for a while and clicked on a page for the scans daily community, which Chrome handles just fine. The browser had been open for maybe ten minutes.

I'm altogether too demoralized to go looking for an older version of Firefox today, uninstall the current one, install the older one, and tool around in it for hours at the library to see if it works. The library's only open for another two hours and 45 minutes anyway. I'm done for today.
