Not Really Spoilerish Note on Last Night's Angel

It's interesting how often the series reminds you that Angel is a total hypocrite.... I liked this episode a lot, though the urge to smack Angel around that I've had all season only intensified. ::grins::

Gunn and Fred look for Wes, who's lying with his throat slashed in a park near his home. Somehow G&F never think to look around Wes' home. Angel goes all dark and threatens to torture the head of Wolfram & Hart to get information on Sahjahn, who he found out is the only person who can rip a hole open to the dimension Conner was taken to. Angel gets a spell that makes Sahjahn corporeal, thinking to forcefully convince the demon to cooperate, but since he got the spell from the bad guys, Sahjahn gets corporeal somewhere outside the circle and several innocent people are injured. Angel doesn't care that much because it's not like any of them are his son.

Fred is adamant that Wes must have had reasons for taking Connor, and going through the hotel trash nets her Wesley's diaries and notes. G&F find out that Wes was convinced that "The Father will kill the Son" and took Connor to protect him. They tell Angel, but he really doesn't give a damn and threatens Fred to make her get out of his way and shut up. G&F realize that they better find Wes before Angel does.

G&F try to get the information out of Justine, who's slowly coming to realize that Holtz had used her. Angel comes charging in after Sahjahn and gets his ass whipped because he had no plan and Sahjahn's people were made incorporeal originally because they were too powerful and dangerous to be dealt with. Duh, Angel. Turns out that Sahjahn went back in time and wrote the prophecy that sent Wes off on a wild hair. Connor is prophesized to kill Sahjahn, and the demon couldn't allow that. Right before Angel gets his stupid ass staked, Justine comes back and traps Sahjahn in Holtz's urn.

Wes was found by a homeless man and brought to the hospital. G&F say that Wes would sure appreciate a visit from Angel. Angel goes in and says that Wes was wrong, that he didn't go evil, that he's not Angelus, he's Angel. And then tries to smother the helpless Wes to death, saying that he will never forgive Wes and he'll kill him. It takes several hospital staff members to get him away.
