I'm finally starting to work on shooping and posting photos taken in March, something my health and pain levels have gotten in the way of. I'm working on it! There are more to come. This time I've posted 52 window display photos, day and night shots, from Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Versace, Dior, Chanel, and St. John's at
my Flickr account and
my deviantArt.
Here are some shoes:
The knot-heeled shoes are Chanel. I respect the workmanship on the Balmain pants at the knees, since it's tough to match the separate pieces in houndstooth pattern.
Kinda fussy Dior shoes:
I was in the city tonight on another photo hunt but the pickings were slim and cops and traffic were everywhere. Not really conducive to a relaxing drive or getting good photos, though I ended up with some. When I got home and turned on the TV, I found out that the Obamas were on a date and taking in a show in Midtown. That explains it.
I almost hit a cyclist with my car. As he yelled that I should watch it, I pondered his dark clothing, lack of reflectors, and the tiny red light on the back of his bike seat on a really dark side street and got annoyed. Gee, amazing I couldn't see him! As the more easily squishable rider on the road, he should take care of himself better and not expect everyone else to look out for him. I would feel awful if I hit somebody but the odds are good it'd happen because s/he was nearly invisible and/or a privileged, lawbreaking ass, which seem to make off 85% of the cyclists in my city.
Already unsettled, I nearly had a heart attack when I couldn't get my car to start. On the second try the engine made a racket before turning over. It's okay today so maybe I just accidentally flooded the engine last night. Before trying it after that I just about prayed over it and wondered who the patron saint of cars is.
Here are some possibilities. Saint Frances of Rome could've helped me with that cyclist....

Flickr.com has made some major visual changes. I don't like them, but I'm getting used to them. It's unnecessary but kinda funky that the photo pages now provide a rudimentary image of the camera used to take photos. It also includes technical info on how the photo was shot. I didn't know the photo file recorded that stuff!

The time has come when Medicaid sends me a renewal form and decide whether I get to keep my coverage, but I haven't gotten a notice as to how much of the recent Social Security increase I have to start paying to the trust to keep my Medicaid. Because it's more "fun" if I have to guess? I have desperate phone calls to make Monday, since as usual the paperwork arrived in the mail too late for any of the offices involved to be open.
Given the month-long government shut down in October, it might not be calculated yet. Which probably wouldn't stop Medicaid from flunking me out anyway. Since I'm still taking Grandma to appointments I get to see what she pays for specialist co-pays and medicine with just Medicare, and they're a massive Do Not Want.
I'm hoping I don't have to lose much of my $18 SS increase (every little bit helps), since I need it and I'm barely hanging on by my bloody fingernails as is. And since I already lost $9 a month in food stamps for that increase.
