As I'd hoped, Fashion Week coming to New York has resulted in stores putting more interesting displays up. Saks has set out the Roostein Realistics. Bergdorf Goodman has art-related windows, which I'll work and put up later this week. Putting together and posting all the Saks, Chanel, Dior, and Burberry shots today killed my right hand and wrist, and you can see the new windows up at
my Flickr account and
my deviantArt account.
Judging from what I'm seeing in the windows, skirts/dresses with pieces of different lengths (
for example) and dresses with revealed parts are big things for spring. One of the Dior windows has
its dress partially unzipped to reveal her two-piece swimsuit-like thing underneath.
I don't get Miu Miu's aesthetic. The closest I get to describing it is that it's how a rich 8-year-old in a woman's body might dress.

Grand Central: How a Train Station Transformed America by Sam Roberts
While the historical illustrations, photos, facts, and secrets are really interesting and appreciated, the writing is often awkward, though it definitely makes me want to visit and wander Grand Central Terminal. I think it's a worthwhile read.

It really needs to stop snowing here! It snowed three times here in the last week, for a cumulative effect of well over a foot! At least it should give the giant mountains of filthy ice a chance to melt first before adding a new layer! Parallel parking is a nightmare lately. The increased pain and pressure in my head aren't appreciated either.

We have no idea how it happened, but our electric bill was double the usual total this month. We didn't do anything differently!
