Even though Fashion Week is over, a lot of local stores are still stepping it up. Although Bergdorf Goodman has gone to something more sedate after removing their flashy, neon-splashed
Tony Viramontes window series, though they redressed some of those Rootstein mannequins and put them in as
brackets for the 58th Street side entrance, Chanel has created
some kind of 1960s-style retro futurism theme while
Saks has deployed its Rootstein Realistics first in a series featuring mannequins made up almost 98% as women of color then into a Chanel series and a Scandal series. I actually have to go back some night soon to catch the finished Scandal series, since aside from
the two windows in progress I posted here there were two or three more windows that had been completely shrouded Thursday night.
The Rootstein enthusiasts following my Flickr were very happy!
So I posted a ton of pics and nearly gave myself carpal tunnel doing it. *g* You can see shots from Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Dior, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton up at
my Flickr account and
my deviantArt.
