There hasn't been much in the way of window display action going on recently, so I haven't been shooting and posting much. I have 11 new shots up at
my Flickr account and
my deviantArt. Here are two other shots that will only show up here, at LJ.
I was surprised by how saggy and jowly this Dior mannequin's face looks in this lighting. I mean, she's a mannequin. Also, that is indeed a white jersey T-shirt paired with that skirt. (I'm not sure if it's a one-piece. It might be.) I saw J.Lo wear it on Fashion Police and didn't think it looked any less ridiculous.
One Saturday in June an internet friend from New Jersey came in and I gave her a tour of some of my favorite places in the Green-Wood Cemetery. Since I was doing a kind of tour of trying to be informative and entertaining, I didn't take many photos. I shot this gravestone though.
Sepulchral portraits seem to be coming back into style, since I'm seeing more of them on modern gravestones and monuments. I think they're a good idea, giving an impression of the departed and being something you have more control over than having a portrait etched into the gravestone. I've seen some very unfortunate-looking etchings. Here's a close-up of one of two portraits on a single gravestone, a couple. You can see the two of them together
here. I like these two in particular: they give you an idea of who the people are, what they loved, possibly even how they met. And she's hot.

I enjoyed this kind-of web comic, "
Tatterhood," based on a Norwegian fairy tale but with, I think, a better ending.
ursulav entertainingly sporks the original version
here.
