Because it's come up recently with a visiting fan friend, I'm going to add an Avengers' sites listing at last year's Viridian5's
NYC: A Street-Level, On-the-Cheap Guide. I only saw it once though, so I'm not up on everything that showed up, just that the movie nailed almost every major landmark in Midtown except the Empire State Building, to the point that I wondered why the Empire State Building didn't rate. But I do remember (and these are along or visible from 42nd Street):
- Grand Central Station.
- the
Park Avenue Viaduct, which is where Captain America and the assassin twins spent a lot of fighting time. (It's inaccessible to pedestrians most of the year, unless you catch it during the three consecutive Saturdays in August called Summer Streets.)
- Iron Man flies through
the tunnels through the Helmsley Building that are the southbound entrance and northbound exit for the Park Avenue Viaduct.
- the Chrysler Building, used as a lightning rod.
- the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building (the main New York Public Library building, with the lions in front).
- I can't quite figure out where around 42nd Street Stark Tower is supposed to be.
If anybody can offer additions or corrections, that'd be cool!
