A Life, Animated

Jun 04, 2012 22:42

I recently learned that one of my On Demand channels carries often random episodes of The Anime Network's offerings. With most of my regular TV shows on summer hiatus, I mainlined almost everything--nothing is going to make me try a baseball series--since Memorial Day weekend.

Coicent (dub)
Chainsaw Maid episodes 1-4, 6
Angel Beats episodes 3-8 (dubs)
The Book of Bantorra episodes 1-5 (dubs)
Yozakura Quartet episodes 2-7
Rozen Maiden: Träumend episodes 4-9 (dubs)
Polyphonica Crimson S episodes 3, 5-8
Infinite Stratos episodes 5-8, 10 (dubs)
Dream Eater Merry episodes 11-13 (dubs)
Xam'd episodes 22-25 (dubs)
Princess Resurrection episodes 19-22 (dubs)

One episode (or even less) was enough:
Hell Girl episode 4
Gintama 40
Sakura Wars episode 14 (dubs)
Ef: Melodies episode 5 (dubs)
Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok 20 (dubs)
Golgo 13 episode 9 (dubs)
Someday's Dreamers episode 1
Motto to Love Ru episode 1

There were times, even with a few series I liked, where my reaction was an eyebrow raised all the way up into my hairline and a "wtf did I just watch?"

Hearing the same 12 English voice actors in all the dubs gets really surreal after a while, as character relationships get mixed and matched across properties.
