Still
I had a rough day. The car repair shop still has no room open to take my Civic. The way things are going, I'm screwed over having it repaired this year since next week is a holiday week when a lot of people do jack all. I love how he keeps saying he's doing me a favor to (not) work on my car all the while he's screwing with me. I'm supposed to call again tomorrow morning to see if he can take it then. If so, I get to rearrange my schedule to deliver it, like I'd already rearranged today, and pick up a rental. Joy.
I'm really getting the feeling that he thinks it's just fine to keep Civic sitting in his lot indefinitely because, hey, I'll have a rental to drive that my insurance company is (hopefully) paying for. I'm trying to get across the idea that this is not fine with me.
I called my regular mechanic who'd recommended the guy and he defended him. It could take days to order parts and wrangle with the insurance company. It might take a week or more! I told him that's a lot different from the "few days" the auto body guy keeps saying and that he's misled me before.
So, now I don't quite trust him anymore either.
If I'd just picked an auto body shop out of a hat at the GEICO website my car might be repaired already.
