I've come to the conclusion that I live in a state with numerous national guard and small military bases of all types through it in remote regions (not near the only big city here, Indianapolis) I would just move into one of those.
They have those wide open areas where they do those exercise runs that could be turned into gardening and animal keeping, they are usually surrounded by wire fence with razor wire at the top of it, you could plant land mines all around the perimiters except for one entry, you would have those high powered sniper rifles that can blow a zombies head off and barely make a sound, (also, silencers. Also, rocket launchers, and laws and grenade launchers and oops...yes I like to blow shit up.)you know they have food and water and fuel stock piled all to hell and back, plenty of tanks, helicoptors, big trucks and other thing, and it wouldn't be hard to bring in some motorcycles that you could go out on to find tankers and just abandon the motorcycle and bring back tankers of fuel to the base. YOu could take tanks in to small local towns to raid for canned food, meds and the like (no traffic blocking everything like atlanta). Slip in, lay a bunch of land mines around a car with an alarm, head back and hide in your tank and chuck a brick to set off the alarm, wait for the zombies to surround the car set off the land mine and go shopping.
and yeah, the fuel thing, wtf? It's looking like 1 out of ever 100,000 people didn't turn into zombies, so there should be FUCK ALL PLENTY OF FUEL AND STUFF. What the hell? Granted, if you are hanging outside of zombie central like a bunch of DUMBASSES then yeah, not so easy to leave your little bower in the woods and go shopping, but hello, atlanta is obviously fucked, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR FUCKS SAKE.
I'm loving this show, but hating it. It depresses me, are people actually this STUPID????? I mean, I get people go into shock and all that, but hello, SURVIVAL RESPONSE, AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS IT?
I don't think they would be hanging out at the smaller places, I suspect they woudl have piled into a Huey and headed for a better secured base or an aircraft carrier, that would be my option if i had it.
