Magnets, How Do They Work?

Although I dislike how 98% of the female characters are presented, I'm enjoying the twists of the Sherlock episodes and the actors. (Sarah in "The Blind Baker" is the 2%.) Besides, my dad's an old school Sherlock Holmes fan so we're watching the episodes together. In different houses, talking about it by phone ( Read more... )

SHERLOCK is neat. I'm not quite ready to forgive Martin Freeman (Watson) for what he helped do to the HITCH-HIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY, but this makes his slightly less a target for my wrath. Pleased they haven't aged and/or fattened Watson to lessen the homoerotic implications, like some adaptions did (because fat older men never have sex, naturally)

SUPERNATURAL- Sam's not Dean's brother anymore? Or has the dynamic just changed? As for Lucky- is it a Hellhound/Barghest?! If the latter, it's a neat little homage to one of my favourite films of yesteryear...

btw- saw RED today. Neat film, and Karl Urban's secret agenda-having, black-leather clad CIA wet-agent gave me pleasant Krycek associations...

This is the first thing I've seen Martin Freeman in. Of course fat older men never have sex!

Sam came back from hell without his soul. So where once he was sensitive, cared about people, and loved his brother, now he's cold and dark, he lies a lot, and he doesn't feel much of anything. In an earlier episode this season Sam let Dean get beaten up badly and vampirized because he wanted to have a way into the local group of vampires and knew of a (risky, painful) cure that would bring Dean back to humanity if he didn't drink any human blood first. He doesn't let Dean know about this cure until sometime later, letting Dean stew in worry and horror for several hours.

Lucky is a skinwalker. It turns out that the alpha skinwalker has converted a lot of humans into skinwalkers, told them to get adopted into families as their pet, and expects them to all turn on and convert said families when he gives the word.

I'd like to see RED someday. I like action movies, I'm fond of Karl Urban, and I think Helen Mirren was sexy with a gun in the

Freeman completely fucked up Arthur Dent in the awful adaption of THE HITCH-HIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY some years back, which proved to me that Hollywood just doesn't "get" British humour ( ... )

The current story is that Sam's soul remains in hell or that cage with Lucifer and the archangel Michael. Crowley claims that he can give Sam's soul back if Sam and Dean do some things for him. To keep Dean working, he showed up to give Sam a major ouchie then got rid of it when Dean fell more in line, showing how Crowley is using Sam as a hostage for their good behavior.

I'm really hoping the show is working toward restoring their brotherly dynamic. This is supposed to be the final season.

Lucky does kill some people who he felt threatened his female "owner" and her son, but he'd fallen in love with her and the boy and thus didn't want to follow the skinwalkers' plans for them. When the other skinwalkers force the issue, Lucky defends her and her son against them but she can't trust him again after everything she's seen and heard. (I mentioned the bit about him as a German Shepherd watching her as she showered.)

Most of that sounds cool. Karl Urban was his usual fun self while being interviewed by Attack of the Show during his ( ... )

*Alistair* Crowley?! Who plays him?!

Karl is great. The fight scene between him and Willis is a highlight. You could tell they were both going for it.

btw- forgot to mention that in Bourne Supremacy, Urban's enigmatic, ruthless hitman with an agenda not only wears head-toe black leather but also speaks Russian. You could tell where my head was at ;)

Nope, a demon named Crowley, played by Mark Sheppard. He was the right-hand man of Lilith and King of the Crossroads Demons, and he currently claims to be the King of Hell since Lucifer is in a cage.

Yes, yes. Not surprising. *g*
