"I need your help / I need your discipline / You know that once I start I cannot stop myself"

I took advantage of Trent Reznor's largesse and got a copy of his new Nine Inch Nails album, The Slip, free from his website. It's pretty good, but my brother and I wonder if the physical version to be released in July will be a more finished product. My brother, a sound engineer, thinks some songs feel like they haven't gotten enough work, it's fairly short as is, and on "Discipline" Trent comes in too early, stops singing, and comes back in with the first line of the first stanza a bit later. We also question the wisdom of putting two instrumentals one after another, since it slows the album down.

Still, I think it's well worth the download. My favorite songs on it are "Discipline," "Echoplex," and "Head Down." I love the "la la la la la" on "Echoplex" more than words can express.

...someday I really should say something about Year Zero, which I enjoy a lot. You know, aside from that I enjoy it.

WDVE is playing older music this weekend for the holiday weekend, and one was that "Did It All for the Nookie" song by Limp Bizkit. Say all you want about Fred Durst, but Limp Bizkit had some insanely catchy songs.
