Do I Have a Target Painted on My Back?
Remember I mentioned black ice on the roads this morning? About an hour after I parked it, my car got hit. Somebody skidded into somebody else who hit my Civic. It's drivable, but there's a thumping noise from the back I can't locate the source of. The back piece of the driver's side is dented, scratched, and popped apart, having been hit right at a seam. I had this fun little surprise waiting for me when I got off the train tonight.
I just finished getting the other two people's insurance information and reporting my claim. To my shock, the people involved left their names and contact numbers.
Because of my fear of the thump, I'll be taking the bus to the train tomorrow, which will be such a great joy. Queens buses are never on time....
My insurance company will be appraising it Thursday at 8:30 a.m. I have to pay a $500 deductible. But if my car will be awhile in the shop, and it looks like it may be, I do have a rental option. They'll cover me for a small rental car.
My insurance company will fight to get my $500 out of the cause's insurance company.
At least I wasn't in it this time. My abused neck didn't take another shot.
