Monday, Only More So, week 2

My neurosurgeon's office that lost my March 2007 MRI films may also have lost the CD they ordered to replace it.

I went into the city this morning to pick up my October 2006 MRIs on CD. It was an hour-long commute, with another hour to return home, for something that took five minutes to complete. While I was around, I called neurosurgeon #1's office to thank them about making the October CD possible while gently nudging about the March 2007 one the admin said she'd ordered Wednesday. The admin said the March CD came in last week. I ignored all the usual internal questions about when she would have called if I hadn't called first in favor of being thrilled that I was in the city, in the area, and could pick up the CD, making this the super special trip of kicking ass and getting things done. I could call neurosurgeon #2's office back and see if I could un-cancel Wednesday's appointment!

Admin: "Wait, where is it? It's not on my desk, it's not on his desk.... Why did he move that envelope? It had my name on it!"
Me, internally: ~the sound of my hopes smashing~
She said she'd call back when he got out of surgery so she could ask him what happened but she hasn't called back. She said that if necessary she'll order a new CD. I wonder if I'll have to prod that along too. Probably.

With all this going on, I'm half afraid that the CD I got today might not actually hold my October 2006 MRIs. It's not like I'd know.

Meanwhile, neurosurgeon #2's office, where I cancelled my second appointment with them due to the lack of the MRIs, won't call me back to let me know if a CD as opposed to film is okay and if it's not okay if they could help me somehow. I first left a voice message last Thursday asking if a CD of the MRIs would be fine or if it has to be film, and if it has to be film if they could give me help with #1's office. No one called me. I called today to cancel Wednesday's appointment and ask about MRIs again. When I got off the subway I saw a voice message from #2's admin saying she couldn't cancel the appointment until she talked to me. She didn't mention the MRI thing at all. I called again, got voice mail again, and left a similar message. No call back.
