Trondheim: This Looks Like the Tricky One...

REPORTBACK (FRIDAY, JULY 15, 2022): Yeah, Trondheim was a bit of a trip, though I think it was Worth it.  Had to fly in from Bergen, and get a bus to the hotel from the airport.  This is the point where my energy levels were starting to run out of steam, and I had to start taking naps now and Again.  On the first full day in Trondheim, it was raining nearly the whole day, which was kind of Discouraging; but I did, at least, get my hair Trimmed nicely, for a rather eye-popping fee.  Oh, well; I don't get haircuts that Often.

The next day featured much Improved weather; hence, it was off to Nidaros Cathedral, where I snapped scores of photos (the old place is still very Photogenic, for a religious/historical site Built between the late 11th century and 1300 or So), had lunch, bought souvenirs for my brother and sister-in-law, and became Acquainted with one Bishop Sigurd, featured as a statue on the front side of the Cathedral carrying three Severed heads in a basket.  I'd never heard of the guy Before; but the statue sort of jumped out at me as I was scoping out the front wall for good photos.  In any case, Nidaros Cathedral is not to be Missed, for anyone with an interest in Medieval history, religion and architecture.  There are lovely gardens around the place too, as well as an Extensive churchyard.  Trondheim overall was a much more Approachable size for a city than Bergen; besides the Notable landmarks, one is much less likely to get Lost there.  Of course, getting from there to the next destination, Bodø (the first Arctic city I've seen) also required a short flight.

Trondheim, Norway is most Famous for its Elaborate cathedral; and getting there may require a 3-hour flight from Bergen, unless I've got 16 hours to kill on a bus ride, which I probably won't.  It also claims to be a tech and college town, with Medieval underpinnings.  We shall see.  Here is more information on getting to Trondheim on its visitor site.

Said visitor site is a bit Paranoid right now; it keeps blocking my IP address.  Oh well; the Comfort Hotel webpage has at least a little info on what's on in Trondheim, and how to get places.

Here is more info on What's On in Trondheim this summer; this page seems a bit more Accessible...
