I just had to reset my LJ password in order to Login. Maybe I'm becoming a she-codger; but why does everything have to be Revised, Reset, Upgraded and Whatever?? I had the Same freaking password for 16 years; and suddenly, it doesn't work Anymore. Not enough Different sorts of characters. Sigh

Fwiw, you had to change your password because there was a security breach at LJ a ways back, and the list of account names have now made their way onto the sort of platforms that mean this presently poses a very real threat. In my most non-judgemental tone (seriously, no judgement): if you are the sort of person who uses the same password for sixteen years, there's a strong likelihood you have used the same password elsewhere, and that list of accounts would then put you at risk. You can look your email address up on the have I been pwned database to see. (If you need more of an explanation, I tried my best here https://gingerbred.livejournal.com/27872.html ) Also, please google 'have I been pwned' and don't just follow a stranger's link.
And if you have friends who might also have been affected by this (mostly older LJ accounts), giving them a heads up helps keep them safe. (Life is a team sport... 😊)
