Okay, this popped into my head: my thought on the potential direction of things to come. So we know that tonight, we're going to find out about Nick's past, his family, and that there's going to be some Renard-centric stuff going down.
I wonder if, as a result of what goes down tonight, Nick finds out Renard is more than he's been letting on -- how much more is up in the air. I don't think it's going to be a stretch to say that might not be well-received by Nick.
so, maybe Nick takes the stance that he and Renard are at odds -- not necessarily enemies, but he no longer trusts Renard, and he's going to start assuming that whatever Renard has in the works, Nick needs to thwart. This is going to be problematic for Renard, who, as we know from SR's tidbits, needs/wants Nick on his side to help him achieve this ultimate coup he's got in the works.
I wonder if Renard -- who supposedly is aware of Monroe and what he and Nick are doing -- is going to approach Monroe at some point, whom he knows Nick trusts, and ask him to persuade Nick to cooperate with Renard. Maybe giving him that whole "better me in charge than the other guys" angle, particularly if the other guys have a habit of gunning for Grimms. And Monroe, who probably doesn't have much use for royalty or politics, and might not trust Renard a whole hell of a lot himself, but *does* give a damn about Nick and about keeping his home out of the hands of real monsters, finds himself a conflicted little wolf.
Anyway. Random thoughts. Do with it what you will.
