Memory 1

The cries of dying soldiers. The soul of a girl crying out for someone to save her. And then, a demon, a beat that could crush the skills of humans in one hand. It takes the hand of one who cares little for life to do that to a girl. She could not let this go on, especially as the human that the girls souls cried to went to fight the demon she’d become. As he approached, skulls that flamed appeared. Minor undead that would obey the demon there now.

The scent of blood is heavy in the air, bodies of the soldiers that had been caught off guard lay strewn across the ground haphazardly. Lives that could have been lived perhaps a bit longer if not for necromancy. No tears would be shed from the woman for the loss of their lives however. It wasn’t her place to weep for the dead.

Wings spread, seeming to emit their own light, she joined the human. A burst of perfect white feathers and the wings vanish, the feathers disappearing. In another situation, one would remain on the body of a human who she chose. There’s not a moments hesitation as she destroys the undead skulls and moves to take on the demon.

“Stop!! That’s-!” The man yells out to her and she takes a glance at him.

“She can’t be helped. She can’t be brought back. You should try to get away from the battle.” She said coolly. It was almost as if she felt nothing. At least, nothing like compassion. The man, still, stood his ground and held his heavy sword ready. She shook her head and then added: “Human, life is not something to be thrown away. If you are a true warrior, you will find your true path in the maelstrom of battle.”

The sword she held felt light in her hands as she attacked the demon. The man joined her, heavy sword swinging without any sort of tactic, merely to do what damage he could. In sharp contrast, she fought by seeking out places unguarded. As light as he sword felt, it cut deep and did damage enough to stagger the demon. It was not to be compared with the weapon her current companion wielded but it did it’s job and served her well.

With each strike from the two, the demon grew weaker and weaker until finally, he succumbed to death. And in death, the body of the demon melted away to leave the body of a young girl. With surprising gentleness, the man covered her battered and bloodied body with a blanket before moving on. Back to Artolia. Once he was out of sight, she turned to the girls body and, steadily, her soul was separated from her body.

((ooc: A little bit of the manga is adapted into the memory. Mostly because youtube was being bitchy an my psp is charging so I couldn't review the cutscenes I wanted.))
