The End of the Storm

The ice inside has melted away
I feel so new and different.
I fall asleep happy this day
Because of this gift I’ve been sent.

I wake up in the morning bliss
Aware of my heart’s throbbing.
I imagine my lips sealed in your kiss
And I know there is no stopping.

I breathe in the clarity that has come
The majesty of knowing what you are.
The glory of this new found love
The knowledge that you are not far.

You say I am your rainbow
I say you are my sun.
I had to destroy the walls
To receive your vibrant light.
I grow brighter in your warmth
You grow more beautiful in my eyes.

10 long months we’ve grown together
We were always there for each other.
Bitter ends, and fragile beginnings forever
Gave way to our true lover.

Before you I didn’t know my power
I never knew I could mean so much.
You looked to me as a partner
And I realized I wanted your touch.

The storm clouds are clearing
The rainbow will soon disappear.
But as long as the sky is clearing
The sun will always be near.
