I'm about to lose my singing pal, Tam. She has been my rock. She sight-reads very well, has great intonation (making the appropriate note tones for those of you who don't know music) is totally fun to hang with, has great energy and if full of life. But she is moving back to Colorado where most of her friends and family are. I totally understand why she is moving. She has a crap job out here, she hasn't found a fella to hang with and share some much deserved intimate time with, and her kids would rather be out west. Totally makes sense. She will be much happier. But I'm going to miss her like crazy. This upcoming rescheduled concert of the Rachmaninov will be my final time singing with her, probably ever. We will be in the back row, as usual. The folks in front of us will say yet again how much they like having us sing down to them, we ground them. Tam grounds me or I wouldn't have the part down so well.
So, this really is a tribute to my very dear friend, chorus buddy, grounding force Tamlyn Hill. We started our friendship singing Rachmaninov last year. We will end our singing together with the Rachmaninov in a little over a week. But we will totally remain friends. I guess we are just going to have to go to Colorado sometime.
And if you missed it the last times, here's your last chance for a while to hear this amazing piece of music, Sunday, May 13th (yes, Mother's Day) at 7pm at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Brattleboro, VT
Tam, I hope I'm even half as kick-ass as you are.
