*Takes Deep Breath*

Okay, so I just got back from my 4 hour English class. My god I almost lost it.

First, we wrote an essay on A Christmas Carol, no big deal. Well apparently we now get to take that paper and basically redo it, with just a few more sources for our "research paper" due at the end of the semester.

Second, we spent...I'd say half an hour doing "peer analysis" what is this? High School??!!! It was ridiculous. Not only that but the papers I read didn't even have the basics down. I mean I'm not saying that they needed to have written a huge thesis paper on this but common sense people! You never ever ever use "I," or "We" in an essay unless it is supposed to be a first person narrative. And when quoting portions of the book, don't just put the quote in the paper with no introduction, explanation or punctuation! I got a migraine just reading them.

Thirdly, we were supposed to have read "Legends of the Fall" which I hadn't done since I didn't have time to this weekend. For the next 2 and a half hours we watched the movie Legends of the Fall. OMG it was probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen!!! First off it’s completely testosterone driven! Sex, drugs, smuggling, booze, war, violence, death, suicide, more sex, women fawning over one man. It was ridiculous! My hackles rose within the first 15 minutes of the movie. Then our "teacher" starts going on about how great the movie is and how wonderful the story is and how they're used over and over again by scholars and professors. Now granted this man is a "good ol' boy" from Alabama, and he's made his opinions clear, but that still doesn't keep me from seething in my seat.

*sigh of relief* Thank goodness I have that off my chest. Now onto better things.

On the 15th Ivan and I celebrated out 6 month anniversary. He made me dinner (it was a nice gesture on his part) and took care of me all evening. I bought him The Chronicles of Prydian, which he had wanted to get since he had read the books as a child. He however far surpassed me and almost made me cry. He recorded himself singing an old love song entitled "Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes." It was so romantic!

He's still trying to find a job and it looks like he might end up back at Borders, but not at the same one, nor will he do the same job. He's hoping to do the early morning shift either bookselling or inventory. He's fine going back to that seeing as he's been without a job for over a month now, and hasn't had any response from the applications he has sent out. Whatever he chooses I'll of course give him my support. The sooner the two of us can get out of the state the better!

Oh super exciting news for me! I bought my first car! Well sort of, I have to make the payments to my parents, but still. It’s a 2003 L Series Saturn, power everything, automatic, leather interior, and came with less than 35,000 miles on it. I got it for $7,200. They had advertised the wrong price online and we fought them about it for a few weeks and they finally gave in. So I should have pictures of it to put up soon.

Anywho just wanted to fill everyone in and rant about my English class.

Love ya all!
