To whom it may concern, distress, or discomfit: I am embarking on a period of radio silence. Um, with the Internet. That is to say, I'm cutting myself off for a little while. I will check my school email, where my business-related mail comes, my bank account, and the weather. And that's it. No livejournal, no personal email, no IM. And I will maintain this silence from now through at least Sunday night, and maybe longer.
Why? It is a complicated impulse, springing from mixed motives. Mostly, I am feeling an oppressive sense of trapped dependence on all my little Internet lifelines. Really what I'd like to do is head off to Beach Island or a convent for a week or so, but sadly that's not practicable. So this will have to do. Try to restrain your tears at the prospect of no updates from Ginny for a while... it'll hurt me more than it hurts you. But in a really cleansing, refreshing kind of way.
