Yay! Katie's back. I guess the little shit just wanted to take a little adventure. As Jim and I are standing out on the balcony for a smoke last night we hear a demure meow from somewhere. Jim jumps off the balcony and starts looking around as I'm calling her name convinced it was her. Sure enough I go into the apartment and open the main door and there she is in the hallway in the same condition (at least so far as I can see)as she was when I saw her last Sunday. No idea how she got out or in, but elated she was back. She proceeds to prance back in, bypass Bruce and head to the food dish. All the while in between bites meowing and walking to Jim and I to tell her about her little adventure. Hope she had fun on her almost week adventure while we were worried sick. I'm just glad she's back.

Friday night was fun. Went to an NAACP benefit dinner for hurricane relief. I did not want to go at all, but was very glad I did get off my pouty ass and went thanks to Jim pushing and making a great argument that if it sucks we can leave early. We wound up sticking around through the whole thing listening to a few good speakers, chatting with some co-workers and chowing on some banquet food. Jim and I then headed over to the Crazy Fox for our regular rounds of absinthe for him, Jameson for me and pool. We had a good time just the two of us sitting at the Godfather booth talking. Found that the bartender makes a great white russian with vanilla vodka.

Last night was great. Went to the Mad Frog to meet up with an old friend who was in town from Wyoming. It had been a year since I'd seen him last which was at his wedding, which didn't leave much time for relaxing and hanging out. My old roommate Meghan, Steve (dirk), Jim, Dave, Matt and his wife had a great time just sitting around sharing recent and past stories over drinks. It was a good time. I'm hoping the trip that Meghan, Steve, Jim and I planned for early May to go visit actually goes through. It's a great idea, but long term plans have a tendency to fall through. I think we would have a great time since we all have no problems being in close proximity for extended periods of time and a cross country trip could be exciting and fun. It was great to see Matt and Julia again. Steve and I may go to Indianapolis next Saturday to meet up with Jim, Matt, and Julia for some bar hopping before they leave to go back to Wyoming. It will be nice to get out of Cincinnati just for a night.
