i want a lollipop from canada so i am just going to list australian bands that no-one else on your list has probably ever heard about... actually, i'll be even more specific and list perth bands, because according to Vogue perth is the new Paris... and i just happen to live there.
john butler trio... (tree hugging hippies who have this weird folksy bluesy rock thing going on... download the song "treat yo mama".. prolly a good example of their love for trees and the earth)
eskimo joe.. try the song "smoke"
jebediah... (local indie scene darlings)... download the song "no sleep" or "more alone" or if you want a tearjerker try "harpoon" (ultimate break up song)
the sleepy jackson... (actually made rolling stone's top 50 albums last year so you may have heard of them)... try "good dancers" or "vampire racecourse".
the hampdens.. (maybe a little too cerebral and depressing to be fun... but oh well)... try "afraid to merge", "the hype" or "croupier". but i doubt you'll even be able to find this one on the internet.
i have absolutely no idea what your tastes in music are so my suggestions may absolutely suck. but at least they are original.
