Well, Dumbledore pleading with the Ministry that the threat is real, Voldemort is back and killing Muggles is kinda similar to:
Fmr. Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I pleading to the League of Nations that Italian Dicator Benito Mussolini is killing his people and invading the country and he needs help(the Second Italo-Abyssinian War late 1930 to the end of WWII-ish) most notably, the Italians used mustard gas on the Ethiopians. The League of Nations practically sat around and did nothing out of fear of Mussolini and what he could do to them granted even though, apparently, they had the forces necessary to fight him back.
Or this just could be me D:...(Or it could be likened to Canadian Peacekeeper Roméo Dallaire pleading with the UN about Rwanda.)
hey, I'm all for a UMN--United Magical Nations sitting around and such. Yay internationalismy stuff
EDIT Oh! I told my friend about the book and turns out I've seen it before (she got it for her bday). Hmm....I'll have to steal it sometime XD
